No.2 sees unique punk/rock fusion band City Weezle (featuring Tipperary native Simon Fleury) reunite for an adventurous second LP/
After disbanding in 2010, City Weezle are back with another dose of exploratory genre blending on new album No.2.
The band first made a name for themselves by combining styles of punk, metal, funk, and jazz in their first album, 2010’s Taboo. This was followed by a European tour alongside American alt-rock band Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and French nu-metal band Watcha.
After drummer Ai Uchida’s returned to Japan, City Weezle went on a hiatus for several years.
The band’s founder Simon Fleury, a Tipperary native and brother of MMA fighter Will Fleury, then spent several years as a busker in Cork City. In 2014, he met pianist/composer CSL Parker who encouraged him to continue his work with City Weezle.
Fleury reconnected with Ai Uchida and bassist Kengo Mochizuki, who flew in from Japan to record the new album.

The trio then retreated to a small cottage outside Clonmel, provided to them by Stephen McGrath of Crow Black Chicken, to craft new material.
"Stephen gave us access to a little cottage out past Ballymacarbry in Co. Waterford where we tracked the drums,” said Fleury. “There was no internet connection, no phone signal, co contact with the outside world, just a lovely little room where we could focus on tracking the drums.”
Their efforts in the Leinster location and in other “various beautiful and precarious places” throughout Ireland, France and Japan would eventually yield their newest album, No.2.
City Weezle is an international rock fusion band with a punky swing rock edge.(IRL, JAP, FR, DE) Influences Faith no more/Bungle/Primus/SOAD etc.

With No.2, the band hope to give fans 58 minutes of the same fun-filled listening experience of their previous works but with a more heightened sense of craftsmanship.
Speaking about the new project, Fleury said: “We spent so long doing it, and they're tunes that I can get behind. I feel it's a bit more mature than the first album, it's a bit less chaotic, maybe. That’s sort of what we were going for. I'm very happy with it all, and I hope people will enjoy them as much as I do.”

The album continues to diversify the band’s already widely assorted instrumentation by incorporating piano, organ, harpsichord and string compositions.
The eight-track project can be explored as a two sided cassette or vinyl. The first four tracks are seen as the more "European side" of the album, which explores the sounds and styles of many different regions. The final four tracks make up the "American side", featuring genres like blues and swing.
City Weezle look forward to hitting the stage once again for live performances and producing new material.
