The MusicTown festival will take place in Dublin this weekend, from July 27 – 30, at The Complex in Smithfield.
The Dublin City Council initiative, curated by the Improvised Music Company, Dublin Digital Radio, and Crash Ensemble, is set to showcase an array of diverse talent from across the country.
Among the exciting events is the Irish premiere of Philip Glass’ iconic 'Glassworks.'

Other notable performances include artists such as Anna Mieke, gush, Paddy Keenan, I Dreamed a Dream, Zaska, Paddy Hanna, Elaine Malone, Péist, Junior Brother, Izumi Kimura, Iona Zajac, Adrian Crowley, and Qbanaa.
This year's festival also sees the introduction of The Cooler, a new jazz-focused venue located within The Complex.
“In previous years we’ve had more sprawling programmes, but this year, as music in Dublin rapidly spreads its wings post pandemic we wanted to offer a more intense snapshot of what it looks like,” said MusicTown’s Creative Director Leagues O’Toole.
