The U2 frontman has opened up about the physical impact touring has taken on him.
On the notes to Songs of Experience, the music legend revealed that he "had a shock to the system" in the winter of 2016 after which he was left "clinging on to my own life".
Without giving away too much detail, Bono went on to state he had "a major moment in my recent life where I nearly ceased to be. I'm totally through it, stronger than ever". This is in addition to falling off a bike in 2014, breaking his arm in six places along with his eye socket.
Now following their Experience + Innocence tour, the 58-year-old singer has revealed to The Sunday Times he's not sure if U2 will tour again saying, "I don't take anything for granted".
"I can't do as much as I used to" he admitted, "on previous tours I could meet a hundred lawmakers in between shows and now I know I can't do that".
Recently, Bono lost his voice on stage in Berlin causing the concert to be cut short. Within three days he was back on stage.

Band-mate The Edge said "these days we try to save his voice. He has a very ambivalent attitude to his physical self. He doesn’t naturally take responsibility for his physical wellbeing. Which is fine in your twenties, but you get to a certain point … It is a difficult shift for him".
This comes as U2 is set to play Dublin on November 5 & 6 and Belfast on October 27th.
