Both will premiere in 2019 and be eight episodes in length
Netflix have released details of two new South American crime series in development.
The first is from Argentina and is titled Puerta 7.
Martin Zimmerman (a creative force behind Netflix hit dramas Narcos and Ozark) will be showrunner for the thriller which will explore what the writer calls in a statement: "the intersection between sport, politics, and crime in Argentina - one of the great incubators for global soccer talent."
Split into three parts, the show will follow one woman’s attempt to cut through the male-dominated world of football hooliganism to cleanse one club of its corruption and criminal element; one young man’s descent into sport related crime in order to lift his family from poverty; as well as the civil war within that same club’s fanbase as warring factions fight over the millions they syphon from the club’s revenue stream.
Meanwhile, the second series announced, The Faction, is from Brazil.

Set in the 90s, the thriller will follow the story of Cristina, an honest, dedicated lawyer that finds out her missing brother has been jailed for years and is a leader of an ascendant criminal faction.
Coerced by the police, Cristina is forced to become an informant and work against her brother. But as the lawyer infiltrates the faction, she begins to question her own values about law and justice and comes into contact with a dark side of herself she did not imagine she had.
Both will be eight episodes in length and will be released in Ireland in 2019.
