The Beach Boys will be the subject of a comprehensive new book, set to arrive in 2024 via Genesis Publications.
The Beach Boys By the Beach Boys contains interviews from music legends Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston.
It will capture the group’s astounding rise, covering every album from 1962's Surfin' Safari to the release of the illustrious Endless Summer compilation in 1974.
The book is set to include contributions from some of the biggest names in music such as Thom Yorke, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Lindsey Buckingham, Jimmy Page, Carly Simon, and many more.
Also present in the project are unpublished photographs and other material from the group’s Capitol Records archive.

“There's love in the music and people can relate to the love, regardless of whether you're two years old or 92 years old,” said Wilson in a statement commenting on the book. “For me, music is about love. Love is the message I want to share. I hope people feel that in my music. That makes the hard work worth it.”
The iconic 60s band have already had several literatures published related to them. In 2015 Kent Crowley released Long Promised Road: Carl Wilson, Soul of the Beach Boys, the Biography, a work based around the group’s co-founder and brother to Brian Wilson.
Brian Wilson has also written two memoirs, 1991’s Wouldn’t It Be Nice: My Own Story, and I Am Brian Wilson, which came out in 2016. Mike Love has also released his own memoir Good Vibrations: My Life As a Beach Boy a month before Wilson’s book in 2016.
The bookstore edition of The Beach Boys By the Beach Boys, is set to arrive in 2024, with the exact date still unknown. 500 limited edition copies are also available.
