The Mummy (2017) starring Sofia Boutella and Tom Cruise is shaping up to be another banal explosion-fest
Tom Cruise replaces Brendan Fraser in this year's reboot of the sarcophagus-bursting classic.
On June 9, 2017, planes will crash out of the sky, Princess Ahmanet will summon sandstorms, and Big Ben will disintegrate into ashes. Fans of the original Mummy movies are hesitant to watch what they see as "Terrible" and "A CGI mess."
@themummy This lacks all of the charm and Indiana Jones-esque fun of the Brendan Fraser/Rachel Weisz version. As an Ancient Egypt major and dork: pass pic.twitter.com/cLVHgDHlI3

I don't know. The Mummy should either be scary or funny but this new one looks more like an action thriller. Too serious!

We are delighted that the wrath-seeking creature is a goddess instead of a god this time around; however, a femme-fatal doesn't make up for the apparent Cruise / Annabelle Wallis love plot that is so often unnecessary.
Equally unsurprising is the blemish-free body of Cruise which awakens after a brutal airplane explosion.
Why does Tom Cruise have the same facial cuts in every movie? https://t.co/OdLyTlaNF6 pic.twitter.com/m5xobQkhV5

This beginning-of-summer flick may not be a masterpiece but few reboots are. Has the new trailer enticed you?
[watching The Mummy trailer] this looks terrible i will definitely watch it
