A new show written and produced by Amanda Brunker will be showing at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival. Curiosity, starring Fair City actresses Sorcha Furlong and Annette Flynn, will run from May 2nd through 7th.
A tale of seduction and healing, the play chronicles a suffering Amy as she seeks to better herself after learning of her husband's infidelity. Hoping to escape the loneliness of her marriage, she heads to Sunset Meadow Health Farm — a place that ends up being as disease ridden as it is uplifting.
It's here that she meets new characters who help tease out the problems that have been plaguing her, discovering herself along the way. Tackling issues surrounding casual homophobia, evolving sexuality and mental health, it's set to be a profoundly funny, yet moving production.
Originally a radio play starring Leigh Arnold and Norma Sheahan, Curiosity went on to becoming a bestselling audiobook across Europe. The ebook took number 1 bestselling spots on Amazon US, and the German translated version Neugier rose to a number 1 bestseller on Amazon UK.
