This Thursday's event will include a set from DJ Conor Behan.
The National Gallery of Ireland is set to present a specially curated three-part series of evening events this autumn and winter – with the new series of Thursday Lates kicking off this Thursday, October 13, at 5.30pm.
This week's Halloween-themed event is an immersive experience, and will include a range of activities, including ghostly tours of the national collection, led by Underthings (Debbie Cheevers and Denny MacDermott), an improv duo from Dublin – highlighting some fun facts and eerie artworks.
Visitors on the night can also enjoy a set from DJ Conor Behan in the Gallery’s Winter Garden. Famed in Dublin for the power he wields over the dancefloor as a DJ at The George, Conor is also a well-known presenter, who contributes to RTÉ 2FM, and hosts the iconic Real Housewives podcast, Housewives And Me. With DJ Conor Behan behind the decks, everyone in the Winter Garden will soon be embracing the spooky spirit of the occasion.
As part of the event, food and drinks will be served in the Gallery café, along with some festive trick or treats. You can look forward to beautiful charcuterie/cheese boards and carefully selected Irish ingredients, plus delicious wine too.
The Thursday Lates series is family-friendly, with events appropriate for all ages.
Tickets to the unmissable Turner: The Sun is God exhibition – running from now until February 6, 2023 – will also be available for just €5 on Thursday evenings.
With Thursday Lates also set to take place in the National Gallery on November 10 and December 1, visitors can look forward to even more free tours and cultural experiences over the months ahead. The November edition will be a design and craft themed event, while an evening of music awaits in December, to kick off the festive season.
There will be a wide variety of activities at each event, with something for everyone – especially if you're an art lover, a history buff, a music connoisseur, a dancefloor enthusiast, or simply a fan of people-watching!
The National Gallery of Ireland is open to the public until 8.30pm on Thursday evenings, and admission is free. Tickets for all themed tours and performances are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
