Shame is a new piece putting the spotlight on failure set to run in the Abbey Theatre later this month.
Actress Pom Boyd's new show Shame aims to set the record straight about success, failure and the crippling defeats that can haunt us years after they occur.
As Ireland attempts to shake off the stigma surrounding mental health, this is both a timely and important piece. Through theatre, performance and original songs, Shame invites you to wear your crippling shame on your sleeve, but it does so with humour and a DIY punk ethic.
The show, part gig, part theatre, part sacred punk ritual looks at inherited toxic shame through the lens of Boyd's own personal shame stories. The music and songs are composed by legendary songwriter Sean Millar. This will be Boyd and Millar's first time to collaborate on a theatre show together while actor and musician Sarah Kinlen and musician and cellist Kim V Porcelli will also feature in the cast.
