The fundraiser, which will take place at Clonliffe House Pub, is due to begin at 9.30pm tonight, with free admission to the event.
The mini festival, thrown on the traditional Nollaig na mBan date is fundraising for Sonas - Freedom from Domestic Abuse Charity.
The event, which will take place at Clonliffe House Pub, Ballybough Road at 9.30pm, will feature the Mamma Mia Sisters- performing an Abba tribute show.
The concept behind the event today is to celebrate local women, those both in the community and who have since passed. Large posters of photographs of these local women can be found around the railings, lampposts and shops of the area celebrating the nominated women. Some well known, and those lesser known, include Kellie Harrington, Marie Gorman, Breda Nolan, Gladis Langan, Sister Louise Hallahan, Dr. Linda King, Catriona Crowe, Mary Gavin, Pauline Ring and Cathleen Clarke, which are all being honoured at today’s event.
Sponsored by Dublin City Council and NEIC (North East Inner City), those women nominated for a poster, or their families, will be presented with flowers. A raffle will take place along with fundraising for SONAS Charity. The addition of two vintage cars outside the Clonliffe House will make for a great photo opportunity on the night.
