The 2024 People's Choice Awards have officially announced the nominees for the entertainment industry's leading films, TV shows, musicians and pop culture notables.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Simu Liu, who is nominated for The Movie Performance of the Year for his role in Barbie.

In a change of pace from years past, the number of categories has expanded to 45, including The Concert Tour of the Year, The Male Country Artist of the Year, The Female Country Artist of the Year, The Male Latin Artist of the Year and The Female Latin Artist of the Year. Country and Latin are the only music genres with separate categories for men and women. In pop, hip-hop and R&B, men and women compete against each other.

Returning categories cover major accolades honouring the year's most notable contenders, namely Movie of the Year, Song of the Year, TV Show of the Year, Athlete of the Year, Concert Tour of the Year and Social Star of the Year.

Barbie leads the film categories with nine nominations, followed by its 'Barbenheimer' counterpart Oppenheimer, which received six nods. Other top film nominees include The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Hulu's Only Murders in the Building leads the television group with seven nominations for its third season. Apple TV's Ted Lasso and The Morning Show, as well as HBO's The Last of Us, closely follow with six nods apiece. Meanwhile, NBC's Law & Order: SVU and Hulu's The Bear each garnered five nominations.

The Bear earned five TV nods, including The Comedy Show of the Year.

One of Irish film's most decorated actors, Cillian Murphy is nominated for The Male Movie Star of the Year and The Drama Movie Star of the Year for his part as the titular role in Oppenhemier. Having received several accolades for his role as J. Robert Oppenhemier, Murphy was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama this past Sunday.

Voting is currently open to the public through 19th January 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (4:59 a.m. GMT). Votes cast on 'Turbo Tuesday,' January 16, will count twice, equaling a maximum of two votes per day, per category.

The winners will be announced when the 2024 People's Choice Awards airs live on Sunday 18th February at 8 p.m. ET (1:00 a.m. GMT).
