Marie Ulven, aka Girl in Red, is set to embark on a North American and European tour this spring - with a date at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on May 2nd.
Norwegian indie-pop singer Girl in Red (real name Marie Ulven) has made the jump from independent artist to signing with her first major label, Columbia.
Ulven previously released music through a worldwide record deal with AWAL (Artists Without A Label). The company offers musicians an alternative to working with a traditional label.
Columbia will now handle any upcoming releases from the 'girls' singer, following her 2021 debut album If I Could Make It Go Quiet.
Two of Ulven's earlier singles, 2017's 'I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend' and 2018's 'We Fell in Love In October' have been certified gold in the U.S., racking up around 370 million streams on Spotify.
To kick-start her 2022, the 22-year-old is set to begin a completely sold-out North American and European 'Make It Go Quiet' tour.

While in the midst of her breakout as an artist, Ulven spoke with Hot Press' Tanis Smither about Minecraft obsessions, wrestling with her demons and fan adoration – including such A-listers as Billie Eilish and Matty Healy.
“My lyrics allow people to be that vulnerable with me, which is interesting,” she notes. “Because I don’t know most of these people. It’s really special and unique to be in that position. If I open up my DMs, I can scroll and see people saying, ‘Hey, I know you’re never going to see this, but I just had to get it out.’ And it looks like a diary entry, really.
“I get a lot of insight into a lot of strangers, because I’ve been so open in my music. It’s strange, but I’m also really grateful for it.”
