Fresh from the release of his new single, ‘Out Of Love P2,’ Romanian Irish hip-hop artist TeoYxng tells us about his inspirations and music journey so far.
When did you start making music?
After watching Fact magazine’s ‘Against The Clock’ video with 808 Mafia’s Southside on YouTube, I knew I wanted to start producing my own music. I bought the audio software used in the video, called Fruity Loops, that night. I spent every day for the next three years trying to master my craft. In 2019, I invested in a microphone and started recording my own vocals. Then, in late 2020 I released my first ever single, ‘Focus’.
What’s the inspiration behind your new single, ‘Out Of Love P2’?
It’s the second track in my song series Out Of Love, which follows my experiences with a girl I fell in love with, which eventually ended in heartbreak. I wrote the track after she got in touch with me after months of not speaking – but this time I was careful not to go down the same route as I did before.
What makes you stand out in the Irish hip-hop scene?

I’ve always tried to be true to myself and create music that I enjoy making and listening to. I make music alongside my friend BLAVY, and we’ve always tried to push each other past our creative boundaries, and experiment as much as possible. Vocal chops, retro game melodies and BLAVY’s 808 patterns are key components of our sound.
Who inspires you the most in the industry?
I began listening to Future, Drake and Lil Uzi Vert and then progressed to Lil Tecca, Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, Trippie Redd and Dro Kenji. I have always enjoyed the attitude these rappers brought to the industry. In terms of production, I definitely find myself taking inspiration from the Atlanta rap scene.
What can we expect from you over the next few months?
I’m planning on dropping a series of singles to build momentum for my second EP, out this September. As part of hip-hop collective FRVR 4N, BLAVY and I will collaborate with international artists, although we will focus on the talent here in Ireland. We want to bring these incredible musicians together so that we can all succeed in the field we love.
