Indie-powerhouse entertainment company A24 has unveiled a trailer for their new horror film, Men. 

Starring Jessie Buckley, the teaser shows a woman surrounded by a lush, green backdrop as she stares into the mouth of a tunnel. What begins as a journey to escape her tragic past quickly transforms, her life now plagued by eerie figures from the forest.

"In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Harper (Buckley) retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside, hoping to have found a place to heal. But someone or something from the surrounding woods appears to be stalking her," reads the official synopsis of Men. 

"What begins as simmering dread becomes a fully-formed nightmare, inhabited by her darkest memories and fears in Garland’s feverish, shape-shifting new horror film."

Directed by Alex Garland, known for Ex Machina and Annihilation, the movie stars No Time to Die actor Rory Kinnear and Paapa Essiedu alongside Buckley. This is A24's newest foray into the realm of horror, known for instant cult-classics Midsommar, Hereditary and The Lighthouse. 

The trailer dropped the day after the Killarney-born actress received her first Oscar nomination for her role in Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Lost Daughter. 

“It’s an amazing experience, getting to be someone else for a while,” she said in an interview with Hot Press. “The way you look at the world is different, the way you relate to it is different. It’s like if you’re reading a book and suddenly you’re asking your friends about something you’ve never spoken about before, and their ideas build even more on your understanding. That’s the fun part. You grow with these characters. Each character who has come into my life has changed the way I look at the world. People ask me ‘How do you shake the character off’ – I don’t want to. They all help me grow.”
