GEAlive and MCD Productions have announced renowned Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan as a special guest vocalist with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra for 'Our Planet Live in Concert'.
Taking place at the 3Arena on 21st January 2022, the show will reimagine the Emmy Award-winning series as a live experience, combining highlights from the series with brand new arrangements. Tickets for the multimedia event cost from €46 including booking fee, and are available now.
Developed by the original series producers Silverback Films, and Oscar®-winning composer Steven Price, 'Our Planet Live in Concert' is to be narrated onscreen by legendary broadcaster, David Attenborough. Combining the natural world visuals of Our Planet with creative innovations in live production, the show is looking to be a live experience like no other.
Composer Steven Price’s Emmy®-nominated score has been reworked for an epic two-hour performance, to be performed by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra with Hannigan singing alongside an orchestra 66-strong. The immersive concert will also be touring international arenas with the Irish premiere beginning in Dublin.

According to a statement, all net profits from the 'Our Planet Live' project will be donated to World Wildlife Foundation's global Our Planet education and awareness initiatives, which include providing educational materials for schools and young people, based on the series, with the aim to inspire and motivate the next generation to protect our planet.
“We’ve seen first-hand the impact this series has generated by showcasing the wonders of our planet while also addressing the urgent need to protect it for future generations," explains Colin Butfield, Executive Producer for Our Planet at WWF. "We hope to elevate this message and deepen the audience’s engagement with the natural world by bringing the documentary into the event space on such a phenomenal scale.”
