Donegal folk band Alatan will take centre stage as tonight’s musical guests
It’s shaping up to be a packed, star-studded line-up for tonight’s edition of The Late Late Show, where host Patrick Kielty will sit down with Paul Mescal, U2’s Adam Clayton, fellow late-night peer Graham Norton and musical guests Altan.
In his first sit-down Irish television interview, the Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal will discuss his role in the blockbuster film Gladiator II, the long-awaited follow-up to Ridley Scott’s box-office raider Gladiator in 2000.
Mescal will also chat with Kielty about working with Scott, who reprised his role as director in the sequel, as well as his long-standing friendship with Saoirse Ronan and returning home to his family in Kildare following a whirlwind few years in the spotlight.

Rock superstar and U2 bassist Adam Clayton will join Kielty in the studio to discuss his new documentary Ballroom Blitz, which follows the Irish showband scene during its run in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Clayton will also talk about the Las Vegas Sphere and U2’s 40-day residency there, while also unveiling thrilling news about some of U2’s previously unreleased tracks.
Graham Norton will also join Kielty to chat about the inspiration behind Norton’s fifth bestselling novel, Frankie, as well as spilling details on the “one - chat show guest - that got away” during the UK-based broadcaster’s early days. Norton will also discuss how he’s spending his days - and certainly free weekends - now that he’s left his long-running radio show.
“Keeping with the theme of Cork people doing great things”, Samantha Barry will sit down with Kielty to talk about her new role as Glamour Magazine’s first Global Editorial Director, life in New York post-US elections and her new star-studded life at the lauded magazine.

Brendan O’Carroll will also join Kielty to discuss the return of Mrs Brown’s Boys this Christmas and his upcoming live show The Musical for Moore Street.
