Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers are reportedly in the process of buying a home in Schull, Co. Cork. The Irish Examiner reports that the duo are following in the footsteps of Mescal's latest co-star, Saoirse Ronan, who bought a home in West Cork's Ballydehob in 2020.

Mescal rose to fame in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People, which aired during the first Covid-19 lockdown and led to an impressive career trajectory for the Maynooth native. The 26-year-old is coincidentally set to star alongside his prospective neighbour, Saoirse Roanan, in a new sci-fi movie, Foe this year.

Sources say that Mescal and Bridgers have revealed they are buying an old farmhouse located among some of West Cork's most beautiful scenery. The Wild Atlantic Way site is less than half an hour away from where other Hollywood stars such as David Puttnam and Jeremy Irons have resided.

Before officially announcing their romance via an Instagram selfie last December, Mescal and Bridgers were friends and admirers of one another’s work. The pair were first linked in the summer of 2020, when they were spotted on a brunch date in Kinsale, Co. Cork. Since then, they have made several public appearances together, and have featured in several loved-up photos on Bridgers' Instagram account.

The 27-year-old musician surprised her fans by bringing Mescal on stage during her final performance at Coachella this year. She even sparked engagement rumours by allegedly referring to Mescal as her "finacé" at the festival.

It has been a whirlwind two years for the pair, with Mescal shooting to stardom during the confines of lockdown, and Bridgers scoring a Grammy for her 2020 record, Punisher, last year.

The Los Angeles-based indie-rocker has been hailed as one of the most compelling songwriters of this generation. Meanwhile, Mescal has become a brand ambassador for Cartier watches, and is set to star in new Irish thriller, God's Creatures, which will hit cinemas on September 30th.
