The flamboyant English strip club owner, who was dubbed "'King of the Clubs", has died at the age of 77 following a "secret" battle with cancer.
During his colourful career, Stringfellow ran clubs in Dublin, Paris, New York, Miami, and Beverly Hills.
He loved being in the limelight and once conducted an outspoken interview with Hot Press to promote his Dublin business.
Stringfellow was married three times and boasted of having sex with a staggering 2,000 women. In an obituary published this morning by the Daily Mail website, Stringfellow's life was described "extraordinary and salicious".
The Sheffield-born star entrepreneur first hit the headlines when he was granted the first fully nude licence for his 'Stringfellows' clubs.
"It's very sad news. He passed away in the early hours of this morning. It was kept very private, he didn't want to tell. He wanted to keep it a secret," his publicist, Matt Glass said this morning.
