Pierce Brosnan is being honored at the Oscar Wilde Awards

On March 7, Pierce Brosnan will be honored with an Oscar Wilde Award at the annual event hosted by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance.

The event will be held at Bad Robot which is the production company of JJ Abrams and Katie McGrath.

Brosnan is a well known actor across the world, specifically for his roles in films such as James Bond and Mama Mia! He is not only an actor, but also a film producer, philanthropist and two-time Golden Globe Award nominee.

He also has his own production company called Irish DreamTime which was founded in 1996 and has Beau St. Clair as a producing partner.

The ceremony for the Oscar Wilde Awards is not as traditional as other award shows as it encourages its attendees to dress in a more informal fashion. Guests will be seen in jeans as opposed to tuxedos.

Brosnan is receiving this award for all the incredible work he has been a part of and produced over the course of his career. As well as the work he does outside the film industry.
