Since Pillow Queens debuted their Calm Girls EP in 2017, which sparked a string of UK and Irish dates, as well as festival appearances, they have become a prominent force in Irish music. In September this year, they released their debut album In Waiting. Hot Press's Tanis Smither reviewed the album on release, praising the 'tough, bruising poetry, delivered impeccably as Pillow Queens restlessly bounce from genre to genre, refusing to settle' and calling it a 'a distinctive, original and quietly brilliant debut' – giving it a 8/10.
