The tech "people" who normally have the good grace to hide themselves away in the Hot Press Basement like so many Cousin "IT"s have been on to me this week to explain how Spotify works and what is meant by the idea of followers. "I have many followers," I told them. "They carry me to work on a gilded chair, and I give them my blessings." They ignored me, and continued. According to them, I should be updating this playlist every seven days rather than creating new ones thereby allowing you good people to be automatically notified. I'll be honest with you, as soon as they started spouting that technobabble I pulled an old trick I learnt in India that has served me well - I fell asleep with my eyes open, gently swaying back and forth to give all the outward appearances of paying attention.
