PREMIERE: Aoife Doyle reveals animated video for new album title track INFINITELY CLEAR
Aoife Doyle's third album INFINITELY CLEAR is set to be released on Friday, April 22nd.
Irish singer/songwriter/musician Aoife Doyle has released a new animated video to accompany the title track of her anticipated third album INFINITELY CLEAR.
The breathtaking animation was created by Marc Corrigan and made with support from the Arts Council of Ireland. Since graduating from GMIT, Marc’s short films and music videos have appeared in festivals across the globe. His work has ranged from traditional paintings to experimental animated films.
"The video is a hand drawn animation with story and pacing all inspired by the music and lyrics of INFINITELY CLEAR," he explains of the new project. "Moonlight, starry night, fireworks, and a tapestry of possibilities all set the place, but it is the music that sets the tone and suggests the story that follows. It’s a dream world, a fantasy version of the world outside the window."
The animation perfectly complements the new tracks dreamy soundscape.
"I love the storyboard Marc created," Doyle says. "It begins with a moonlit room which was the initial inspiration for the song, and sets the scene for the sentiment - infinitely clear, endless possibility."
Originally from Bray, Aoife Doyle grew up in a house steeped in traditional and folk music. She completed a BA in Jazz Performance at the prestigious Newpark Music Centre, and an MA in Songwriting at the World Academy of Music and Dance in the University of Limerick. Doyle since has proved herself to be at the forefront of Irish vocalists since 2017 when her first collection of original songs Clouds was met with critical acclaim.
She has shared the stage with Sinead O'Connor, Bagatelle, and the Harlem Gospel Choir. Aoife's intriguing sound takes inspiration from Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Alison Krauss as well as Marvin Gaye, Beyoncé, and Bjork.
The first four singles from her new album, 'Strength To Be Strong', 'Clare Sky', 'They Say', and 'Love Conquers All', have each been awarded Hotpress Track of the Day upon their release.
INFINITELY CLEAR was produced by the highly-regarded musician, arranger Michael Buckley. The album also features a stellar band comprised of Ireland's most skilled musicians including vocalist Margot Daly, saxophonist Michael Buckley, trumpet player Ronan Dooney, pianist Johnny Taylor, organist Justin Carroll, guitarist Jack Maher, bassist Andrew Csibi, and drummer Dominic Mullan.
INFINITELY CLEAR lands on April 22nd. Check out the new video below:
