The punk/thrash band are launching the EP with a launch party in Fred Zeppelins in Cork on Thursday, June 30.
Cork band, Radioactive Puppies of Chernobyl, have released their long-awaited debut EP Chop, Drop & Roll.
The quartet, better known as R.P.C, recently released their first single from the work, titled 'Four-Faced Liar'. The track was dropped as a surprise gift for fans, who've supported RPC since their conception. All proceeds from the single will be donated to a charity in support of the Coalition of Mother and Baby Home Survivors.
Crashing onto the scene when Covid restrictions lifted, R.P.C have made appearances at Relapse Punk Festival, Limerick's Record Room, Dublin's Fibber Magees, and Cork's Fred Zeppelins. They are also lined up to appear at CGI Fest in Kildare this year.
The group consists of bassist Ciara Maria Hayes, guitarist/vocalist Jim Spillane, drummer Uwe Szabin Balogh, and guitarist Shannon Bowman. Each of these members have been extremely successful in their own right. Jim also plays with bands Hashmaker and Dirty Casuals, Ciara previously played with The Turn and currently plays with Waterdogs, as well as the two of them founding Relapse Promotions with friend Aaron Griffin.
The band utilises various genres throughout the EP, most notably hardcore punk, crossover thrash, and skate punk, creating fast paced, heavy, and intricate music.
Speaking about Chop, Drop & Roll, bassist Ciara says: "It's definitely us finding our sound as a band. There's a lot of different styles, and it's very obvious we had a lot of fun writing and recording these songs."
