BIGGER's debut album 'Les Myosotis' arrives on February 4th, 2022.
A multicultural outfit like no other, BIGGER consists of one guy from Marseille, the other from Paris, two from the Jura mountains and a "lost bewildered Irishman", in their words.
Dubliner Kevin Twomey somehow managed to bump into the rest of the pack after traveling around the world, meeting in the middle of nowhere in the east of France.
Hot Press are delighted to premiere the video for BIGGER's latest single 'Even With Lies' below.
The band started recording and touring in 2016, have released two EPs (Tightrope in 2016, Bones and Dust in 2018) and have played numerous venues across Europe and festivals, including Les Eurockéennes de Belfort, Les Transmusicales, and Le Bataclan in Paris.
The outfit drove across half of France, most of Germany, flew to the UK during lockdown to record in Castle Studios in Dresden, and Hope Mill Studios in Manchester. Their debut album Les Myosotis is now complete, produced by Jim Spencer (New Order, Liam Gallagher, Johnny Marr).

BIGGER have now decided to come back to the singer's hometown of Dublin to play and celebrate the release of their debut album, inspired by the likes of Anna Calvi, Villagers, The Doors, The Beatles, Serge Gainsbourg and more. They also are currently working with Larry Mullins (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop, The Stooges) on an ambitious project with 12 classical musicians, set for release in 2022.
On Les Myosotis, due to land on February 4th, the band explores a "weird and freaky world, stories of the after-hours, dead-end bars, failed romances, stalkers, fraternity, and redemption for the outsiders".
Off the wall instruments like harpsichord, vox organs, fuzzed out vintage guitars, and psychedelic drum patterns are heavily featured on the upcoming album. Live, this band uses all the above to craft their sound, and the frontman Kevin Twomey usually finds himself standing on the bar with half the audience wrapped up in the mic cable, urging them to take part in a moment of Carpe Diem and pure chaos.
The infectious new offering 'Even With Lies' explore authenticity with a soundscape that hides the messages lying beneath the surface.
"This soulful groovy song has a sixties swirl to it comes across as positive upbeat tune," BIGGER explain of new single 'Even With Lies'. "The lyrics are quite the opposite saying we can't hide behind fake smiles and the words that sound nice, that those lies end up catching up with you, in our relationships, our ambitions, the invasive place they can take. And you always end up hurting those who try to stay honest, but without pointing a finger of guilt to the listener because we all lie everyday, asking the question, 'Some of us cry in the name of truth but is it you?'"
The video sees the unique outfit performing while Kevin Twomey makes plenty of eye contact with the viewers.
"We built the set from old play material in a workshop that's run by a theatre in the east of France. It was freezing cold as we filmed at night time to avoid sunlight," BIGGER elaborate on the visuals. "At about 2am, a neighbour came to complain and she nearly ended up in the video. We were trying to go for a 1950s kind of look to really get across the message of lies, a fake kind of attitude."
