Nially released his debut single 'I Want It All' back in January 2021 to commercial acclaim.
Back with a bang, rising singer-songwriter Nially has unveiled a more mature sound on third offering 'Four Years' - premiered below by Hot Press ahead of Friday's official release.
'Four Years' is an undeniably powerful, anthemic rock song from newcomer Niall O'Shea. Featuring honest and relatable lyrics, the Kerryman's raspy vocals are layered throughout with brilliant results. The unique track delves into the experiences, relationships and events a person explores throughout their university years.
"I wanted to create a song that expresses the feeling of being in a whirlwind during the college experience with aspects of all the different emotions that can arise between two people," the 22-year-old musician says.
While originally written on acoustic guitar in May 2021, the song was quickly brought to life in the studio by top producer Brendan O'Connor, combining elements of electric guitars, drums and bass to achieve that overall rock sound.
"Brendan is brilliant to work with, who always wants to get the best out of you and to create a sound that you're 100% happy with," Nially adds of the production talent.
From the age of 16, Nially gigged in bars and restaurants across Kerry and Cork to hone his craft. In January 2019, he got the opportunity to spend a few nights in Augsburg, Germany playing gigs. He learned to strengthen his vocal abilities, quickly finding his style and alley of music.

In June 2020, he released a demo of one of his original songs and received a hugely positive reaction, which persuaded him further to get into the studio. Debut single, 'I Want It All', landed in January of this year and amassed over 10,000 streams in it's first four weeks. Radio support came locally and nationally from the likes of Spin South West, Radio Kerry, Red FM, Dublin City FM and FM104. Nially also reached listeners across Europe, the UK and the US with radioplay, impressively.
"My plan is to keep releasing music that I enjoy creating and music that people enjoy listening and connecting to. I hope to perform as much as I can and play lots of different venues," he quips.
