'Wildfire - Live at the Log Cabin' is the first release in a collection of reimagined live recordings of Megan O'Neill's most recent EP, Time (Thought you were on my side).
Kildare singer-songwriter Megan O'Neill is back with a stunning version of new EP track 'Wildfire', recorded live at the Log Cabin.
The musician's latest Time (Thought you were on my side) EP features five songs written and recorded throughout 2021 with producer Richey McCourt. This new material is somewhat of a new era for O’Neill as she merges her folk, storytelling roots with more alt pop production.
Following the EP release in April of this year, both singles ('Wildfire' and 'Fail Better') charted and were playlisted by RTE Radio 1, iRadio, Spin 1038 and more. 'Wildfire' slowly builds into a pop crescendo chorus, charting the growth of explosive love. The video features supporting instrumentalists while Megan performs in a white lace dress. Her vocals, as always, are perfect in tone.
Inspired by the folklore long pond sessions, these new, reimagined live versions of the EP tracks will be steadily released throughout the summer. Layered in Taylor Swift folk-pop intonations, Megan's comforting vocals and vulnerable lyricism evoke confession-like narration at its finest.
The Irish singer-songwriter released her sophomore album Getting Comfortable With Uncertainty in March 2021, showcasing the range of her talent in a surprise departure from her classic folk-Americana sound. Influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac and Kacey Musgraves; the record reflects her changing tastes and growth as an artist.
Since the release of her debut album Ghost of You in 2018, O'Neill has been hard at work creating her new music and co-writing with artists like Orla Gartland, Ben Earle, and Jake Morrell – until her plans were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
