Hot Press are proud to premiere the new video from rapidly rising folk-pop stars Moon Looks On.
Moon Looks On have returned with a brand new video for their stunning single 'Friends Keep Dropping'.
A regular on the Irish gig circuit, lead singer Stephen Gormley draws inspiration from the folk music he grew up around in the West of Ireland on the track.
"I grew up surrounded by books and music and was a DJ for several years before I ever picked up a guitar," he reveals. "But from the moment I learned my first chords a thirst for language in the form of song engulfed me.”
Originally from Sligo, Stephen met his band mates when he moved to Dublin to study music – describing them as “incredibly creative people who share an appreciation of life, laughter, banter and friendship.”
After the independent release of their self-titled debut EP, the band were invited to play at St. James’ Church at Other Voices, as part of the IMRO Other Room special, broadcast in March 2018.
Moon Looks On have continued to build up a passionate fanbase, with radio play in Ireland and the UK, as well as notable live appearances at Sligo Live, Electric Picnic, Westport Arts Festival, Knockanstockan, Somerset House in London and the 2000 Trees festival in The Cotswolds, UK.

In June 2019, Stephen also played three sets at Glastonbury Festival. Having been booked to play two solo shows in the Croissant Neuf Field, Stephen was asked to perform a thirty-minute slot on the Croissant Neuf main stage in the Green Fields - the first stage that Ed Sheeran ever played at the iconic festival. From this slot, Moon Looks On was booked to play a number of tour dates in Norwich, as well as the Polska Éire Festival in Ruda Śląska, Poland.
With their debut album due for release in the coming months, 2020 is set to be a landmark year for Moon Looks On.
'Friends Keep Dropping', released under AMS Records, was recorded in Windmill Lane Studios by Niall McMonagle, and mastered by Fergal Davis.
