Check out the video for 'Static,' the newest single off of Ryan McMullan's upcoming Redesign, below.
Northern Irish singer Ryan McMullan has returned with a moody, atmospheric video for his latest single, 'Static.'
Featuring a woman as she dances through the monotony of everyday life, the video mostly takes place in the ultimate in-between place: an empty bar. It's here that she spins in time with McMullan's rich vocals, moving through the space as he sings from a barely lit stage. As the song builds, so does the video — breaking into a bright, climactic finale.
Subtle but powerful, 'Static' has all the elements of a Ryan McMullan hit. A blend of his effortlessly smooth vocalisations and gently dramatic backings, the single is both alluring and genuine, mysterious and vulnerable. It's a showcase of both his skills as a musician and a performer; a mix that that makes the listener immediately reach for replay.
McMullan is no stranger to performing, having released his debut EP in 2015. Since, the Portaferry native has left his mark on the music scene — gaining critical acclaim, touring with Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol, and starring in his own full-length documentary, Ryan McMullan: Debut.

The track is his first release of the year, following the Debut film-score mixtape he released in 2021. It comes ahead of his upcoming album, Redesign, which is set to release in September.
