Protests will take place this coming Monday, July 17th in Dublin.
Protests at the Brazilian embassy in Dublin are set to take place on Monday July 17th at 12pm following the death of Priscila Leonardi.
Ms Leonardi was working in Ireland as a nurse from 2019 and was found dead after returning to her hometown of Rio Grande do Sul in for a month-long visit.
Her body was discovered by a local fisherman on the banks of the Ibirapuita River. Local police later confirmed that it belonged to Priscila Leonardi who was pronounced missing on June 19.
She was found with injuries consistent with beating and a ribbon-like lanyard tied around her neck.
Friends of Priscila are calling for people to wear black shirts and attend a protest outside the Brazilian embassy on Charlotte Way in Dublin.

“We’re going to go in front of the Brazilian embassy and fight for justice. We want answers. It’s been over 20 days. The police in Brazil say that they’re investigating, but we’ve no answers about Priscila and her disappearance,” said an anonymous friend of Leonardi to The Independent.
“The police never reached out to us, asked us who was close to her. It’s not acceptable. She died in the most horrible way,” the friend added. “Anyone can join the protest. We want justice. We want people to know that she was loved by us, and she was supported by people from all over the world.”
Media in Brazil suggest that local police are investigating whether Priscila Leonardi may have been murdered over an inheritance dispute.
Her funeral took place in her hometown last Friday.
