The group is dissolving for something "bigger" and "better"
LGBTQ+ activist group Radical Queers Resist have announced that they are dissolving today.
The group took to Twitter to tell their 4,000+ followers that as of today, RQR is no more but that many of its members will be part of a new group of "angry queer activists".
The new group will be a fresh start "with room for everyone" who wants to create a world in which nobody is marginalised or oppressed.

The group are renowned for their work during the campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment, in which they were a watchdog of anti-abortion displays. RQR mobilised protestors to counter the Irish Centre for Bioethical Reform's demonstrations and would cover the graphic images with banners and rainbow flags.
The group recently told Hot Press that they've turned their attention to other societal issues now that the Eighth Amendment has been repealed.

These included pressing issues like trans healthcare, sex education reform, legal recognition of non-binary identities, the housing crisis, and ending direct provision.
RQR promised that the reformed group will remain dedicated to these issues and more.
And just because we're not an official group at the moment doesn't mean we aren't still thinking about important things like the sex ed bill, ending direct provision, and so much more. We hope you're keeping them in mind, too! -E
