'Woodstock' comes ahead of KhakiKid's upcoming EP Elevator Music, arriving this July via Red Light Management.
Crumlin based alt-rapper KhakiKid has shared latest single Woodstock. The new track is packaged with 2021 singles 'Cozy' and 'Shlumped Up', in anticipation of his forthcoming July EP Elevator Music.
Fans of Mac Miller and Curtis Waters should absolutely give the 22-year-old rising star a listen.
'Woodstock' - is a trippy, Thundercat-esque party anthem where KhakiKid reflects on the highs and lows of a wild night out. Y&E Series listeners will recognise the new track from his must watch Instagram live performance.
“I wrote 'Woodstock' reminiscing of those nights where you hadn’t any plans but by the end of it you’re missing 50 percent of the clothes you left the house with," says the rapper.
"Even with the memories of your mam’s mortified face in the morning, you can’t help but look back on those nights with a tinge of nostalgia. I wanted the song to feel like you’re walking home at sunrise, hearing birds chirping and are desperately trying to avoid shameful eye contact with early morning joggers.”
The young artist (real name Abdu Huss) has enjoyed a quick rise to success and a recent signage with international management company Red Light Management. His collection of impeccably produced tracks have garnered over 4 million streams on Spotify alone since 2020 debut 'Last Week'.
