After reports that Deadpool 2 would arrive in the cinemas in early 2018, it’s been revealed now that the irreverent superhero will be back on the screens in summer 2018.
Deadpool 2 will open in the theatres on June 1, 2018, 20th Century Fox revealed on Saturday morning.
The highly anticipated sequel is following the hugely-successful Marvel Comic adaption which premiered February 12, 2016. The first Deadpool movie was a surprising hit, grossing over $783 million worldwide and becoming the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.
Only two months after Deadpool opened in the cinemas, Fox ordered the development of a sequel.
For the follow-up, Deadpool original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will return while David Leitch takes over as a director from Tim Miller.

Fans will see Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as the beloved anti-hero, who is joined by Josh Brolin as Cable.
The first teaser, which was released last month, is showing Deadpool responding to a street robbery – or at least trying to do so – with the final message reading: “Deadpool… coming… not soon enough.”
But also aside from the Deadpool sequel, 2018 will be a big year for superhero movies. Along with Deadpool 2, 20th Century Fox dated more movies, including New Mutants, premiering on April 23, 2018 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is set to kick off on November 2, 2018.
