Fans of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series were used to wait for the next book, curious to know how the story around the gunslinger Roland Deschain continues. Now, with the movie coming to the cinemas, they are left waiting again. The first announced release date in February 2017 was cancelled and pushed to summer 2017.
After a long time of waiting for all Stephen King fans comes the disappointing news:
The release date for the ‘Dark Tower’ movie which was first set for February 2017 had to be put back due to delay in post production.
Although the principal photography was finished in July 2016, Sony Pictures and the production company MRC announced that the production can’t be completed in time for a February 2017 debut. A primary reason for this is that the studio needs more time to work on the film’s visual effects.
The film start is now set up for July 2017.

The movie is an adaption on Stephen King’s same named book series containing seven books. Stephen King’s dark fantasy series tells the story of the world’s last gunslinger Roland Dschain who travels through a post-apocalyptic landscape, called the Mid-World, searching for the Dark Tower in hope that reaching it can preserve their dying world.
The film starring Idris Elba as the gunslinger Roland could become the first in a new movie franchise followed by the rest of King’s The Dark Tower series.
