With a Doctor Oz endorsement that failed miserably and an attack on Ron DeSantis who thrived, Trump's judgement is now being questioned by his own kind.
As the 2022 US Midterm Election results roll in, some GOP members are resorting to blame former President Donald Trump as many of his endorsed candidates fall flat. Even Fox News is now questioning his chances for a successful 2024 Presidential run as a result of the failed "Red Wave".
The results of this year's midterms have been underwhelming to Republicans, who were hoping for a tsunami of red seats. However, Fox News published a headline calling Trump the 'biggest loser' of the evening. Some conservative commentators have taken the election results as a sign to leave Trump in the past. According to Fox News, Trump had endorsed "outlandish candidates who turned easy victories into close races, and close races into losses."
Trump's most widely criticised failure was his endorsement of Mehmet Oz (aka TV celebrity Doctor Oz) for the Pennsylvania US Senate seat. Democrat John Fetterman defeated Oz, dampening the GOP's hopes to win back a senate majority. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman reported that Trump was "furious" about the results, and even turned to blame his wife, Melania.
Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz -- including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him.

Another crushing failure was Trump's harsh criticism of Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis right before the election. DeSantis won Florida majorly, despite Trump's attempts to tear him down. "All the chatter on my conservative and GOP channels is rage at Trump like I've never seen. "The one guy he attacked before Election Day was DeSantis - the clear winner, meanwhile, all his guys are shitting the bed,'" National Review writer Michael Brendan Dougherty tweeted.
Just- all the chatter on my conservative and GOP channels - is rage at Trump like I've never seen. "The one guy he attacked before Election Day was DeSantis- the clear winner, meanwhile, all his guys are shitting the bed."

Seemingly threatened by DeSantis' possible 2024 Presidential Election bid, Trump took a cheap shot by nicknaming him "Ron DeSanctimonious," which impressed no one.
A few points on "Ron DeSanctimonious":
1. Terrible branding.
2. Reminding everyone you have no discipline by attacking a top gubernatorial candidate popular with the base two days before an election and a week before launching a comeback campaign is...an interesting strategy.— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) November 7, 2022

On CNN, conservative commentator Scott Jennings said, "DeSantis may be the next evolution of someone who can marry what you like about Trump but also recover some people that went away from the party during Trump."
Many are predicting a successful DeSantis 2024 run in the aftermath of the US Midterms.

Trump’s big November 15 announcement should be an endorsement of Ron DeSantis for president in 2024.

Trump, as usual, is denying any weakness or defeat. "There is a fake news narrative that I was furious- it is just the opposite," he told Fox News. "All these guys that are winning are my people," he added.
With a "major announcement" coming November 15th, (heavily hinted to be a 2024 presidential bid), many Republicans are urging Trump to postpone his news. Some are wondering whether the results of the election would change Trump's plans.

However, when questioned, Trump told Fox News, "We had tremendous success. Why would anything change?"
