With their new 'Courage' series, Other Voices bring "uplifting and inspiring" performances right to your home every Tuesday and Thursday. Following Tuesday's performances from Caoimhin O'Raghallaigh and RTÉ Choice Music Prize nominee Sorcha Richardson, Rhiannon Giddens and her musical partner Francesco Turrisi will grace our screens this evening.

Giddens is best known for her Grammy-winning group The Carolina Chocolate Drops, which she co-founded. She is also a member of Our Native Daughters, a band formed with three other black female banjo players. Their 2019 album Songs of Our Native Daughters was built around the theme of historic black womanhood and survival. Her project with Francesco Turrisi, is called there is no Other. 

Turrisi is a Grammy nominee himself, a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, accordion, harpsichord, organ, various lutes, cello banjo, frame and goblet drums. there is no Other combines music from the Mediterranean and the African diaspora across America.
