Tribute acts to the legendary Guns 'n' Roses, KISS, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Queen, Pearl Jam, and the mighty AC/DC to grace the popular County Meath venue along with up and coming Irish artists.
Rock fans are in for a treat this Saturday (May 28th), with some of Ireland's best tribute bands and rising outfits gracing Meath's Fairyhouse Racecourse stage.
The hugely popular Rockathon festival will return after six years to offer an incredible night of music and entertainment from the legends of rock. The first Rockathon festival was held in 2014, curating a family atmosphere and easygoing vibe as well as blistering performances. Demand has been high to restart the event following the Covid lockdowns.
Performers this year include Queen tribute 'Qween' from County Kildare; Guns 'n' Roses tribute act 'Abuse Your Illusion' from Dublin; Co. Down Iron Maiden tribute band 'Iorn Maiden'; KISS tribute outfit 'Hotter than Hell' from Belfast; AC/DC tribute 'IE/DC' hailing from Kildare and Meath/Westmeath Foo Fighters tribute band 'In Your Honor'. Lastly, Louth's Nirvana tribute will also ascend to the rock 'n' roll stage.
"We play the music from an era that modern day festivals have almost forgotten, music that makes you feel free, makes you feel alive, and really just makes you feel," Rockathon festival organisers told Hot Press.
"Rockathon is an amazing festival that plays all the anthems from the greatest bands ever to walk the planet. This year, there will be bands playing Guns 'n' Roses, Kiss, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Queen, and the mighty AC/DC amongst lots more".
This family friendly event is now running for the fourth time, and really does have so much on offer - including free parking, a large food court, fully licensed bar, a campsite and two stages providing 10 hours of live rock music.
