RTÉ took home the prestigious award for the third consecutive year.
RTÉ was honoured with the award for Broadcaster of the Year at the 2019 New York Festivals Radio Awards on Monday night. This marks the sixth time in recent years that RTÉ has taken home the prestigious award.
In total, RTÉ received six gold, ten silver and four bronze trophies, as well as eight finalist certificates. RTÉ Radio 1's Documentary On One received gold awards for Best for Music Special, Social Issues, Human Relations and Student Democracy. Documentary On One's Dark Snow & Emma, Liam O'Brien and Ronan Kelly's documentary about extreme weather and climate change, was also honoured with the Bronze United Nations Department of Public Information Award.
RTÉ Lyric FM, meanwhile, was awarded nine prizes, winning the category for Best Live Sound.
Rose Anderson, the Vice-President and Executive Director of New York Festivals International Radio Awards congratulated RTÉ in a statement:

Other Irish stations, including Clare FM, Newstalk, Today FM, Near FM, Ocean FM, Classic Hits and Athena Media also picked up awards on the night, while Irish podcasters Peter Dunne and Liam Geraghty took home the bronze trophy in the Best Drama Podcast category for their horror series Petrified.
