The station plans to create a shortlist from all applications.
RTÉ are looking for new 2fm presenters, following series of high profile exits in recent weeks.
The national broadcaster has announced plans to create a “long list of presenters” who would appeal to listeners from ages 15-34.
“When a presenting role becomes available a shortlist will be created from the long list using a weighted criteria”, RTÉ said.
The announcement comes a week after former rugby star Donncha O’Callaghan announced he was leaving his 2fm breakfast show.
His was the most recent of several departures from the station, with his former co-host Doireann Garrihy presenting her final show on the 31st of May.

Comedy duo The 2 Johnnies also announced their departure in May, followed by Jennifer Zamparelli, who left after a decade with the station.
Replacing The 2 Johnnies on their show Drive it was broadcaster Lottie Ryan, who presented show for 5 weeks alongside David O'Reilly.
Some reports suggested that Ryan was being axed from the show earlier than expected, however the influencer has denied this, stating that "the plan was always for a short term cover, and I knew this from the start."

The recent developments prompted former 2fm presenter Gareth O’Callaghan to hit out at the station. Taking to social media, he described 2fm as "A platform for wannabe influencers".
Perfect opportunity now for RTE to sell off 2FM. Or else, stop this nonsense that the station hides behind.
Replace its output with a real alternative that's worth listening to, a music station as it once was, for an older audience; instead of a platform for wannabe influencers.— Gareth O'Callaghan 🇮🇪 (@GarethOCal) May 24, 2024
