The actress Ruth Negga has been nominated for best actress in a motion-picture drama category this morning.
Negga was nominated for her performance in Jeff Nichols’s Loving that tells the true story of an interracial marriage in the segregated US South of the 1950s.

Other Irish nominations were John Carney's 'Sing Street' for best comedy or musical film, Caitriona Balfe for best actress in a TV series for the sci-fi drama 'Outlander', Colin Farrell for his performance in 'The Lobster' and Sarah Jessica Parker for 'Divorce', scripted by Irish writer and actor Sharon Horgan.
The nominations for the 74th Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning live on NBC'c 'Today' from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Presenters Don Cheadle, Laura Dern, and Anna Kendrick revealed the nominees for 25 major film and television categories.
For the first time, 'The Tonight Show' host Jimmy Fallon will be presenting the awards ceremony, which is set for January 8 on NBC.
One winner has already been announced: Meryl Streep will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award due her achievement in the film industry. Last year’s winner of the Cecil B. DeMille Award was Denzel Washington.
The Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 8 at 5-8 p.m.
