Portaferry singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan has announced the dates for his UK and Ireland tour, which includes a headline show in 3Olympia Theatre on Thursday 22nd September 2022.
The tour is announced ahead of the long-awaited release of McMullan’s debut album Redesign, which is out 26th August 2022. The album was originally written and recorded in the winter of 2019 in a process which was captured In the 2021 documentary Ryan McMullan: Debut.
Following it’s delay in 2020, McMullan released the six-track EP Debut Mix Tape of tracks he wrote in the intervening period, capture the essence of home and the impact the pandemic had on the songwriter.
McMullan had a busy number of years prior to 2020, which included supporting some of Northern Ireland’s biggest musical exports across the world including Snow Patrol and Foy Vance, as well as Ed Sheeran, Kodaline, The Coronas, and Dermot Kennedy.
He first met Bangor-born Vance backstage following his gig in Washington DC, where McMullan was studying and "flipping burgers".

Acknowledging his vocal talent, Vance challenged him that night to try his hand at songwriting. He did just that, and after finishing his degree McMullan joined Vance on a tour of the US, playing 20 concerts in 16 states over 32 days.
Subtle but powerful, new single 'Static' has all the elements of a Ryan McMullan hit. A blend of his effortlessly smooth vocalisations and gently dramatic backings, the single is both alluring and genuine, mysterious and vulnerable. It's a showcase of both his skills as a musician and a performer; a mix that that makes the listener immediately reach for replay.
