Saoirse Ronan picks up Best Actress Award at New York Critics’ Circle Awards
The 23 year old Irish actress is now hotly tipped to pick up a Golden Globe after winning the Best Actress Award for her performance in Lady Bird.
Ronan received the Award at a ceremony at TAO Downtown in New York City on Wednesday night.
The Award comes ahead of the Golden Globes this weekend, where Ronan has been nominated for Best Actress (comedy/musical) and the Academy Awards, which take place in March.
Greta Gerwig, who was the director and writer of the critically acclaimed Lady Bird, also picked up the award for Best Film.
Elsewhere at the Awards, Timothee Chalamet picked up the award for Best Actor for Call Me by Your Name, while Best Director went to Sean Baker for The Florida Project.
Ladybird is set to be released in Ireland later this year. Watch the trailer below.
