SCENE + HEARD: The Festival of New Work will return this year to highlight Irish artists — beginning February 13.
Taking place across three weekend at the Smock Alley theatre in Dublin, over 600 creators will be featured, including 111 debut works from within and beyond Ireland. Acts range from comedies, theatre, dance, music and “the undefinable in-between.”
Audiences will be encouraged to participate in the performances, giving feedback through ballots, online forms and post-show conversations. Tickets are sold in 45 minute increments, including either one show or a few free performances.
Located in the Banquet Hall will be the visual arts exhibitions, including work from Myra Jago, Sorca O’Farrell, Aisling McEntee Walsh and Karen Ebbs. Musical acts include Juliana Hahn and Remco Jacobs in Shaving Ysbaddaden, Padraig Dooney in Please Hold and James Doherty O’Brien in Your Heart is an Empty Room.
