The Sean O’Casey festival takes place at the Sean O’Casey Theatre and Community centre in East Wall, Dublin at 6:30 pm on Monday 11 September until 23 September.
The Sean O'Casey Festival will feature an exhibition of art by The Mary Stokes Band's Brian Palm-titled Fragments From Life. The exhibition is free and will be on display at 7pm on Monday 11 September.
Palm is an acclaimed visual artist, who's distinctive cityscapes celebrate the Dublin communities that he has long been part of.
The exhibition features “fragmentary moments in the lives of Dublin city dwellers”, which were captured on black and white film by Palm when he was a young art student decades ago.
Palm has manipulated the photos, collaging them together with oil paint, pencils and sprays to transform them into works of art which depict the city in a deeply personal sense.

In addition to Fragments From Life, is work from his Propagated Palms project.
The collection of work is a collaborative, all-ages project where artists were invited to work with Palm to learn his technique and methods- creating a series of ‘forged Palms’ in the process.
Palm’s work shares much of the same social commentary and commitment as the great Irish playwright Sean O'Casey.
Recognised as one of Ireland’s greatest playwrights, O’Casey lived in East Wall and the North Docks for 30 years of his life.
The residents he met in these areas would become the player in his dramas- in which he would share their daily concerns and challenges.
