Sharon Horgan to write film for Reese Witherspoon
Irish writer and actress Sharon Horgan is set to write a film starring Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon.
The County Meath woman (pictured here with Rob Delaney) made her breakthrough writing the BBC comedy Pulling. She then went on to have small-screen success with Catastrophe, and most recently with the US sitcom Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica-Parker.
Sharon explained how she came to Witherspoon's attention, speaking with Red magazine. "Reese set up her own production company specifically to create better roles for women because she was fed up with getting sent scripts where she was some funny guy's girlfriend. She saw Pulling and that's why we hooked up."
Witherspoon was also a fan of Catastrophe, and tweeted Horgan after watching it, saying: "New obsession #Catastrophe on @AmazonVideo - @SharonHorgan & @RobDelaney made me laugh so loud on a plane, I was told to be quiet... twice."
While plans for the film are in the pipeline, t has not yet been revealed what type of film Horgan and Witherspoon will be working on.
