Sandycove, an imprint of Penguin General at Penguin Random House UK, will officially publish REMEMBERINGS by Sinéad O'Connor on June 3, 2021.

The acclaimed award-winning singer-songwriter's revelatory memoir will touch on her fraught childhood, musical triumphs, struggles with illness, and of the enduring power of song.

Blessed with a unique voice and a fiery temperament, O’Connor rose to fame in the late 1980s and 1990s with a string of hit singles. By the time she was 20-years-old, she was famous around the world.

From her trademark shaved head to a 1992 appearance on Saturday Night Live when she tore up Pope John Paul II’s photograph; Sinéad has divided yet captivated millions.

In REMEMBERINGS, O’Connor recounts her painful tale of growing up in Dublin in a dysfunctional, abusive household. Enthralled by her brother’s Bob Dylan records, she escaped into music.

She relates her early years with local Irish bands, completing her first album while eight months pregnant and soaring to unimaginable popularity with her cover of Prince’s 'Nothing Compares 2U'.

"This is my story, as I remember it. I had great fun writing it over the past few years," says O’Connor.

The artist recently postponed all shows until 2022, citing ongoing addiction and mental health issues.

The 53-year-old singer-songwriter took to Twitter to break the news to her fans, saying,

"Message for folks who have tickets for next year's shows: those shows are being postponed until 2022 so that I may go into a one year trauma and addiction treatment program because I had a very traumatic six years...now recovery starts."

In the Twitter thread, O'Connor asked for support and understanding, explaining, "if I take this time to heal, I will be fit for a lifetime of touring; if I don't, I won't."
