"No fuckin' rockabilly or acid-house."
Recent Hot Press cover star Sinead O'Connor has taken to Twitter to issue a call for backing tracks for her forthcoming album.
The musician posted on Twitter on October 14: "3 more songs and I'll have an album. I am looking for 3 'up-tempo' backing tracks that I can write lyrics and melody for," and asked fans and musicians to drop their tracks in the replies to the post.
3 more songs and I'll have an album. Am looking for 3 'up-tempo' backing tracks that I can write lyrics and vocal melody for. If you have any, please post here. No fuckin' rockabilly or acid-house. No drum machine hand claps. No fuckin' sax that ain't played by Nigerians.

The tweet comes just over a week after O'Connor released a cover of Mahalia Jackson's 'Trouble Of The World', alongside a video directed by Don Letts. The proceeds from the sale of the single will go to aid the Black Lives Matter movement.
"I fell in love with the song for the same reason that anyone would fall in love with it," Sinéad told Hot Press in her recent cover story interview. "The lines about 'I want to see my Mother' – who doesn't fall in love with that? So I was as tearful as the next man, frankly, listening to that. Once we did it, I realised it really suits the time now. I was also observing Public Enemy on CNN talking about their track 'State Of The Union'. Chuck D was saying how important it is that artists get out there and make statements."
