The iconic Irish singer died in her London home yesterday at the age of 56.
UK police are not treating Sinéad O'Connor's death as suspicious, according to a statement issued this morning.
The statement read that officers had responded to "reports of an unresponsive woman" at 11:18am local time at a home in south-east London. “Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious," it continued. A file will now be prepared for the coroner.
No other details have yet been revealed as to the circumstances. O'Connor had only recently revealed she would be moving to London and had posted to social media a couple weeks ago announcing the move.
A statement from Sinéad's family requested privacy at this time. The legendary singer, revered as one of the most important music icons of the last 50 years, is survived by her three children, Jake, Roisin and Yeshua.
