Watch Sive's ethereal acoustic performance of 'Beira' below.
Naas singer-songwriter Sive released the ethereal track 'Beira' earlier this month. Now the up-and-comer is back with a live performance of the single, showcasing her idyllic vocals and classic folk influences.
Written at the height of summer, 'Beira' explores a pining for darkness during long, sun-filled days – a longing for the rest and retreat the colder months allow.
The yearning described in the song is paired with rich string flourishes and gentle echoing guitar. Sive's vocals – often compared to the likes of Lisa Hannigan and Joni Mitchell – glide along the track, lending to the folkier side of her sound.
Those influences are at heart of her live performance. Simplified with just an acoustic guitar for accompaniment, the performance leans into emotionality of the song with her rich vocals at the fore.
The performance was recorded in Teddy Bear's Picnic House at Killashee Hotel in Naas, shot by Robin Ball at DecciBel Productions.

'Beira' is the latest taste of the folk singer's second LP, We Begin in Darkness, set to release on April 28. Two similarly lulling tracks have been released from the forthcoming work titled 'Winter' and 'Think Before I Speak.'
Both tracks received marked attention including RTE 1, Folk Radio UK, BBC NI, Brighton's Folklore sessions and Hot Press Track of the Day.
Ahead of the album release, the folk singer will play an album launch show in Dublin's Workman's Cellar on May 19.
Sive released her debut LP The Roaring Girl back in 2017, following a succesful crowd funding campaign. After receiving critical acclaim on the record, she shared the stage with fellow Irish folk singer Lisa Hannigan, Kila, Mick Flannery, Cathy Davey and Gemma Hayes across Europe and New Zealand.
