American heavy metal band Slipknot have announced their new album The End, So Far, which will be released September 30 via Roadrunner. It follows their well-received 2019 album We Are Not Your Kind.
The band shared the LP's second single 'The Dying Song (Time to Sing)' earlier today, which was accompanied by a haunting music video directed by band member Michael Shawn Crahan (aka "Clown"). Following the death of bassist Paul Gray in 2010 and the departure of various band members over the last few years, percussionist Crahan remains the only founding member in the current lineup.
"The heart begins to suffer when the soul has given up, and the flesh is barely more than bone," Slipknot sing on their latest single, their faces covered by masks as they perform beneath strobe lights in a mirrored room. Previously, the band shared ‘The Chapeltown Rag’ off of their forthcoming album.
The End, So Far will be the group's seventh studio album. It was produced by Joe Barresi and features twelve tracks.
