Could it be that Irish students are a decent bunch after all? we canvass the views of some newcomers to these shores
Nick Hodsman
London
3rd year Economics – Trinity College, Dublin
“Ever since I came to Dublin, I’ve had such a good time. Nearly all my friends are Irish now. I love it over here. People don’t drink any more here than my friends do in the UK, and there isn’t that much of a difference in terms of promiscuity either. Irish girls are great though, really good fun.”
Folarin Diya
Nigeria
1st year Accounting – Dublin Business School
“Irish people are very friendly. They look quite serious though. I go to clubs and stuff, but I think Irish people drink too much, compared to my country! It’s still quite boring for me because I’ve only been here for a month and haven’t made many new friends yet, but when I do it’ll be more fun. I’m really looking forward to getting my degree and a good job, settle down and find a better life. ”
Helledd Fychan

4th year History and Politics – Trinity College, Dublin
“I think Irish students are brilliant. I love it here. They’ve been very welcoming and friendly. And they don’t drink too much at all, contrary to popular belief!”
Geraldine Kwuree and Akin-Aajayi
Nigeria
1st year Accounting and Finance – Dublin Business School
Geraldine: “There isn’t that big a difference between the students here. You just have to learn how to mix with people and understand the culture.”
And what do you think of the Irish guys?
Akin: “I don’t have much to say about that!”
Grace Zhou
China
1st year Business Management and Marketing – Dublin Institute of Technology
“My biggest problem in college is the language, but I’m improving! Our first class was about getting to know one another, and the people seemed very friendly. But I’m mostly looking forward to getting my degree.”

So OK, maybe Italian boys are looking outside better than Irish , but the Italian boys have little brains! The Irish boys are more polite and friendly, more interesting... deeper?? Italian boys have the smallest brain – and other things – in Europe. Never made sex with an Irish boy yet, but the Spanish boy last night was very good!

“Irish boys don't wash as much as they should, and they aren't as friendly as guys from home. They're not that interesting and really bad at sex."
Mayolamine Rossolini
France
Cork Institute of Technology
I have had no sex with an Irish boy. I think they are very foward in the pub… grabbing me and they are always too drunk. They all dress the same style and their faces are OK, but not as good looking as the French!
Jassim Haidar
Kuwait
Cork Institute of Technology
I find it easy to get Irish girls in bed for sex. They are often drunk and often are the ones who make the move. The sex is often quite dirty and I find the Irish girls more horny than in my own country. I think most others agree with me. But right now I’m not
complaining!
Manas Bodha
India
1st year Graduate Diploma in Business – Dublin Business School
“The Irish people have been very welcoming to me. They are a very good people with a very good civic sense and traffic sense. It’s very organised – not like where I’m from! I haven’t come across any untoward incidents, as of now, anyway. I haven’t been here for long and so I haven’t been out much yet. But I heard that Irish students never attend classes. The Irish girls are very nice though. They are supposed to be the best in the world. I was told that in India.”
Is that why you came then? “Probably!”
Rainer Kwen
Germany
Cork Institute of Technology
I have been here for just one week, but I notice how the fashion is much different, casual and sporty. In general they are looking very fine, not so much red-haired girls though. There are a lot of girls here smoking and drinking, more so than in Germany. The Irish sex has not happened yet, but I expect it will be good.

“I like the guys here. They're a bit silly but they're cute and sexy. I love Irish men! They're not creepy like the men from home. And they're great drinkers, which I am too!”
